Law enforcement has not made any arrests for the burglaries that happened in the Richmond Lake area, but the burglaries have stopped.

At least six burglaries were reported in the Richmond Lake area during September. Investigators at the Brown County Sheriff's Office believes the burglaries are connected.

There have not been any burglaries reported in the past two weeks, Tom Schmitt, Chief Deputy at the Brown County Sheriff's office. He believes that is due to a combination of publicity, which has encouraged people to be more cautious and a couple of near encounters with law enforcement.

"People have been more cautious, they are locking the doors of their homes and cars," Schmitt said.

The sheriff's office has interviewed what he described as "persons of interest," but they have not made any arrests, he said,

The investigation is ongoing, Schmitt said.
