An Aberdeen man was sentenced to prison Friday after admitting to two charges related to distribution of small amounts of marijuana and two other crimes.
David J. Corn, 25, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of less than an ounce of marijuana from an incident in August and one count of possession of with intent to distribute less than an ounce of marijuana from an incident in September. Those charges were in separate criminal files. And in a third criminal file, he pleaded guilty to aggravated eluding and contributing to the abuse and neglect of a minor. Those charges stem from incidents in June. In addition to Corn's guilty pleas, other charges were dismissed.
Corn was given identical sentences on the two marijuana charges. On each, he was sentenced to two years in prison with one year suspended and fined $704. He must also make restitution that includes $1,110 resulting from a hit-and-run charge that was dismissed. The prison terms will be served concurrently.
On the aggravated eluding charge, Corn was sentenced to two years in prison and fined $704. That prison term will be served consecutively with the others. On the contributing to the abuse and neglect charge, he was sentenced to 60 days in jail and fined $184.
Corn was given credit for 116 days served.
Both of the marijuana charges and the aggravated eluding charge are felonies each punishable by as much as two years in prison and a $4,000 fine. The contributing to the abuse and neglect charge is a misdemeanor.

Robert C. Vandeputte, 21, of Aberdeen pleaded guilty to possession of the synthetic drug called 2-CI and distribution of more than an ounce but less than 8 ounces of marijuana. He was not sentenced.
The synthetic drug charge is a felony punishable by as much as 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The marijuana charge is a felony punishable by as much as five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. In exchange for his guilty pleas, other charges were dismissed.
The two charges Vandeputte pleaded guilty to were in different criminal files, but both were the result of instances in April, according to court paperwork.
Todd A. Larson, 46, of Aberdeen pleaded guilty to a fourth drunken driving charge in a 10-year span. He will not be sentenced until a presentence investigation is finished. According to court paperwork, his blood alcohol level was 0.268. The legal limit to drive is 0.08.
The crime is a felony punishable by as much as five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. In exchange for his guilty plea, two lesser charges were dismissed.
Jennifer L. Eye, 30, of Fargo, N.D., pleaded guilty in Marshall County to grand theft. She was sentenced to seven years in prison with six years suspended and was given credit for 155 days served.
Eye must also make any necessary restitution and pay $1,104 in fines and fees. The crime is a felony punishable by as much as 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. In exchange for her guilty plea, a felony burglary charge was dismissed.
