At least 80 acres of grass and pasture land burned Thursday about a mile northeast of Crandall in Day County.
The fire started in a hay field when a baler overheated, according to a release from the Day County Sheriff's Office. The fire spread quickly as a result of high winds and jumped a road into the Crandall hills. The release stated.
Volunteer firefighters from fire departments in Conde, Bristol, Andover, Turton, Raymond, Wallace, Bradley and Webster, along with several farmers and neighbors, managed to contain the blaze before it threatened any structures, the release stated.
The Day County Sheriff's Office, Day County Emergency Management and the Clark County Sheriff's office also responded.
No one was injured in the blaze.
