Mike Ullrich of Aberdeen was recently honored with the Award of Appreciation at the South Dakota Division of Parks and Recreation's annual meeting in Huron.
Ullrich, who is a conservation technician for the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, was honored for going above and beyond this summer by keeping Richmond and Mina Lake Recreation Areas running while the parks were between managers.
Ullrich graduated from Northern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences. He started working full-time for Game, Fish and Parks in 1978.
