SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The baby boy with dark brown eyes has already wooed fans around the world. Now he needs a name.
The Great Plains Zoo and Delbridge Museum of Natural History is launching a baby-naming contest for their latest reticulated giraffe born early last month. The contest is also a fundraiser for the zoo: People wanting to suggest names for the calf are asked for a $10 donation through Oct. 14.
After that, voting on the suggested names will continue through Oct. 28. Each vote will require a $1 donation.
The zoo's website says that the proceeds are to benefit the zoo's animals. People can both suggest names and vote on the suggestions online, in person at the zoo or by mail.
